The world is digital. Your impact should be, too.
This doesn’t mean leaving the physical, natural world behind—it means using the digital platforms at our disposal to help protect, enhance, and drive positive change within it.
The way we use digital, and the messages and stories we share and consume there, will shape the type of future we create in the world beyond our screens. If your organisation wants to drive meaningful change, digital is not just a tool—it’s the foundation. Don’t treat digital as an afterthought, like so many others. Make it the driving force behind your communications strategy.
About
I’m Emma Seery - a strategic communications and content consultant helping organisations turn digital into a powerful driver of impact, advocacy, and results. I don’t work towards or settle on “vanity metrics” and work to connect the dots between digital and business success. I build integrated digital ecosytems, strategies and campaigns that support broader business goals and achieve measurable results - increased revenue, stronger advocacy and mobilisation, higher donor or membership conversion rates, policy influence, or measurable shifts in public awareness and behaviour.
I was previously Senior Digital Editor for the commercial arm of Europe's largest conservation charity, the National Trust. I developed an SEO content strategy to help drive a 20% increase in web traffic, contributing to 11% revenue uplift year-on-year and surpassing £1m in organic-assisted bookings for the first time. As Digital Lead for international climate solutions organisation, Ashden, I increased digital reach from 1.6 million to 5.5 million over a 3-year period, raising engagement rates from 4% to 10%, and obtained a 200% increase in LinkedIn followers (1.8k to 5.8k.) My writing has been featured in publications including The Ecologist and Reader's Digest. I’m a contributing writer at On The Land magazine and Commissioning Editor for Harvests, the member’s magazine of Biodynamics New Zealand.
I sometimes write about art here. Within the arts and cultural space, I’ve written for leading UK arts institutions, including Open Eye Gallery and FACT, and interviewed artists such as Bombay Bicycle Club and photographer Richard Ross.

Digital tools and platforms are essential mechanisms to amplify messages, mobilise support, and engage stakeholders across vast distances. However, many organisations struggle to integrate digital efforts into their strategic goals, leading to siloed activities, unclear metrics, and missed opportunities for impact.
I work with organisations to ensure their digital activities are not just an add-on but an integral component of achieving their impact goals. Whether it’s influencing policy, shifting public perceptions, or driving behaviour change, my approach helps clients harness the full potential of digital communications.
I support clients in:
Aligning digital strategy with organisational goals – ensuring SEO, content marketing, and paid campaigns directly support advocacy, mobilisation, and awareness efforts.
Optimising websites for conversions (CRO) and search visibility – refining user experience (UX), improving site structure, and implementing SEO best practices to attract and retain engaged audiences.
Developing high-impact organic social media strategies – crafting audience-aligned content that builds engagement, nurtures communities, and drives meaningful action.
Executing data-driven paid campaigns – creating full-funnel advertising strategies that convert awareness into action, ensuring every dollar/pound/euro spent delivers measurable impact.
Bridging digital, advocacy, and policy teams – breaking down silos to create cohesive, high-performing campaigns that amplify reach and influence decision-makers.
Setting clear KPIs and tracking performance – establishing measurable objectives across digital channels, linking insights to organisational impact and refining strategies for continuous improvement.
