Digital marketing | influencer collaborations
Part of the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts, Ashden is a London-based organisation boosting climate innovation in the UK and Global South. Through their grants and awards, their support brings clean energy to villages and refugee camps, and fixes up cold and draughty homes. It makes schools more sustainable, and helps communities protect and restore the nature around them. They work to shine a spotlight on innovators and connect them with new partners, as well as working with funders and policymakers to influence, inspire and raise ambition.
As part of promotion for the prestigious, annual Ashden Awards ceremony, I worked with London-based creative agency Improper to create video content in collaboration with influencers.
Video content collaboration with UK TV meteorologist, Laura Tobin
The 2022 Ashden Awards was presented by broadcast meteorologist Laura Tobin, as well as joined in conversation by musician and producer Brian Eno. To promote the ticketed London event, and boost both sales and online registrations, I worked with Improper agency and Laura Tobin to create this piece of video content.
I came up with the concept of staging a fictional future weather forecast set in 2050, in which the world is facing extreme weather on a regular basis. I wrote the script and briefed Improper on the visual concept, look and feel.
The content was used across social media channels (LinkedIn, X, Facebook and Instagram) both organically as well as in paid Facebook campaigns to reach new audiences and drive ticket sales.
Video content collaboration with climate activist, Tori Tsui
Tori Tsui is an influential climate justice activist, researcher and writer with an Instagram follower base of 50k+. Tori headlined the 2023 Ashden Awards as a guest speaker, joining ceremony presenter Soli Townsend (entrepreneur and TED X speaker) in conversation. I worked with Improper to create and deliver a “behind the scenes” interview with Tori, to be used on Instagram, to reach and engage young, environmental and activist audiences.
